Semenanjung Gaza masih tegang

BANDAR GAZA: Keadaan di Gaza dan sekitarnya masih tegang selepas kumpulan Hamas mengisytiharkan penamatan gencatan senjata dengan Israel dan memberi amaran akan bertindak balas kepada sebarang serangan oleh negara Yahudi itu.

Sejurus selepas sayap bersenjata Hamas mengumumkan dengan rasmi tempoh gencatan senjata selama enam bulan berakhir, sebuah kumpulan kecil, Jihad Islam melancarkan tiga tembakan roket, tetapi tiada kecederaan atau kerosakan dilaporkan.

Pada awal pagi semalam, Briged Ezzedine al-Qassam berkata: “Gencatan senjata sudah berakhir dan tiada pembaharuan lagi kerana musuh Zionis tidak menghormati syaratnya.”

Kedua-dua Hamas dan Israel berkata mereka akan bertindak balas jika diserang, tapi tiada sesiapa pun berkata mereka akan menyerang pada masa ini.

“Kami memberi amaran kepada musuh Zionis: semua serangan terhadap Semenanjung Gaza atau apa juga perbuatan jenayah lain boleh mencetuskan konfrontasi lebih besar dan kami akan melakukan serangan balas dengan lebih ganas lagi,” kata kenyataan dalam laman web Broged Ezzedine al-Qassam.

Media Israel turut melaporkan langkah berjaga-jaga yang diambil pasukan keselamatan dan masyarakat di sekitar Semenanjung Gaza, tetapi tidak pasti risiko keganasan yang akan berlaku.

“Hamas akan terus menimbulkan tanda tanya,” kata akhbar Yediot Aharonot. Beberapa akhbar lain menyatakan pertahanan Israel tidak cenderung bertempur ketika ini.

Israel akan mengadakan pilihan raya umum pada 10 Februari depan selepas Perdana Menteriya, Ehud Olmert yang terbabit dengan skandal meletak jawatan September lalu.
